JYL Studio is a family-run creative studio based close to Bracknell in Berkshire, documenting weddings across the UK and Europe.
We believe the best wedding photographs and films begin with trust. From the first conversation, we stay closely involved — learning what matters most to you, helping refine the details and offering practical guidance as your plans develop.
Our approach is documentary-first, with a refined editorial touch where it adds something meaningful. We work calmly and thoughtfully, preserving genuine emotion, natural interactions and the atmosphere that makes each celebration personal.
Led by Jason, our small team brings together wedding photography, filmmaking, portraiture, post-production and client support. This allows us to provide a personal and consistent experience from your initial enquiry through to the final delivery.

Most of the time, we work quietly in the background, allowing your wedding to unfold naturally. When guidance is needed — especially during portraits — we step in gently to keep everything relaxed and effortless.

Because we work comfortably across both formats, our coverage remains efficient and discreet, without the disruption of large crews or conflicting direction. The result is a cohesive visual story — still images and moving footage that feel natural, cinematic, and emotionally connected.
For couples who appreciate something timeless and tactile, we also offer REAL 35mm or medium-format film photography as an optional add-on.

JASON
Founder & Lead Photographer
Jason leads the creative direction of JYL Studio and is the principal photographer for our weddings.
With more than eight years of professional wedding experience, he has photographed over 200 couples and worked across a wide range of weddings in the UK and Europe.
His approach is calm, observant and documentary-led. He focuses on anticipating meaningful moments as they unfold while offering relaxed direction when portraits or group photographs need a little more structure.
LUKE
Lead Filmmaker & Portrait Photographer
Luke leads our dedicated filmmaking and also works across studio portraiture, parties and private events.
With six years of professional experience, he combines technical precision with a strong understanding of movement, atmosphere and visual storytelling. His work is natural and cinematic, capturing not only how an occasion looks but also its energy and emotion.
For weddings requiring more extensive filmmaking, Luke works closely with Jason to create photography and video coverage that feels consistent and connected.
Cathy supports the work that happens both during and after each celebration.
Her role includes studio assistance, post-production, editing support and administration. She helps keep projects organised, monitors the details behind each delivery and ensures that the client experience remains considered and consistent throughout.
As part of our family-run team, Cathy also brings a thoughtful second perspective to the way we communicate with and support our couples.

Joy Officer
Lucy is responsible for studio morale, regular screen breaks and reminding the team not to take life too seriously.
Although she does not attend weddings, she remains an important part of the JYL Studio family and provides essential emotional support during long editing days.
